A Word from the Senior Ministers

One Heart

In Revelation7:9 we read the apostle John’s record of an amazing vision he had. “I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne.”  I love the picture these words paint – they reveal God’s amazing love for the nations and His desire that people from every nation would understand what it is to have an intimate relationship with Him.

When God blessed Abraham, He made it clear to him that it was His plan that all the nations of the earth would be blessed through His descendants (Genesis 22).  When Jesus spoke to His disciples and said, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), He was reminding us who believe that it will through us that the nations of the world will hear the Gospel and be given the opportunity to respond positively to it and therefore be part of the vision that the apostle John had.

We at Dreambuilders Church are passionate about playing our part in seeing the apostle John’s vision becoming a reality.  That’s why we have an annual missions conference – “Advance”.  The conference is called “Advance” because we know we are called to advance the cause of Christ in the world.  The conference helps us to align our heart with God’s heart for the nations.  The theme for “Advance 2010” is “One Heart” – we want our heart to beat in time with God’s heart for people from every nation.

During the conference, we are all given the opportunity to commit to partnering together through faith promise giving.  Over the last decade, we as a church have contributed about two million dollars towards missions (locally, nationally and globally).  Our giving has helped build orphanages, support pastors and church planters, assist humanitarian aid organisations and provide emergency relief in developing nations.  Whilst we’ve been able to some wonderful things with the finance we’ve raised, we know that that is so much more that we could be doing.

Please don’t miss “Advance 2010 – One Heart”, May 29 and 30 at Dreambuilders Church.  It will be a great conference and I know that the Holy Spirit will work in each of our hearts to ensure that our heart becomes one with God’s heart for the nations.
