Get To Know God

Yes!
It is possible to know God. I mean really know Him, like you would know a close friend.

That was the reason that Jesus came. Jesus lived on earth to give us an accurate idea of what God is like.

So what was Jesus like on earth?

1: Strong - he didn't put up with nonsense
2: Just - Jesus exposed corruption and wickedness
3: Merciful - he was a defender of those who could not defend themselves
4: Accepting - Jesus was ready to accept people, no matter what station they held in life
5: Forgiving - When someone blew it, and downright admitted they messed up Jesus forgave them
6: Powerful - Yes, that's right - Jesus had the power to do amazing things, including giving people a brand new start and an amazing new destiny

Jesus is still the same today as he was then!

Jesus will not ignore our 'stuff-ups' and is not in the habit of just 'sweeping our sins under the carpet'. He is strong and just.

Yet if you admit you have made a mess of the things God requires of us, he is merciful. If you ask him for forgiveness, He is forgiving.

You want to know God?

Here is a simple prayer you can pray to start your relationship with him. Read it carefully, because it's important that you mean what you pray.

Jesus,
I am sorry for the things I have done wrong. I come to you because I believe you are merciful and forgiving. Please forgive me of my sins. I need your strength to live the way you want me to live. I need your power in my life to give me a new destiny.

Thank you Jesus that you make the way possible for me to know God. Help me to live a life that keeps me close to you.

I pray these things in your Name.
